The long tradition of composers being inspired by the Orient began in the period of classicism. While Mozart's opera Abduction from the Saraj in the genre of zingspiel comically evokes the atmosphere of a harem, composer Fazil Say adds the Cello Concerto Never Give Up to the contemporary repertoire . With this composition, which is part of the Gezi Park trilogy , Saj sends a message of peace and freedom through music, and the solo part is performed exclusively by the young cellist Kamij Toma. Another story about freedom, Scheherazade by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, closes this concert.
