This staging is based on Michael Ende’s final completed novel, “The Satanarchaeolidealcohellish Notion Potion” (1989), and is aimed at audiences aged six and up. Director Kristin Trosits returns to Schauspiel Wuppertal with this magical farce about good and evil in the world. The tale follows the wicked wizard Beelzebub Irrwitzer and his aunt, the witch Tyrannja Vamperl, who must still meet their quota of evil deeds before midnight: wipe out ten animal species, poison five rivers, kill ten thousand trees, throw the seasons into chaos, and unleash a plague. Their last hope is the 'Wish Punch of all punches'—the satanarchaeolidealcohellish potion that inverts every wish. But cat Maurizio and the raven Jakob Krakel overhear their plans and try to avert disaster. The production is presented as a cheerful, music-infused stage version for the whole family.
