Woyzeck

This reduced staging for two actors uses three chairs and a tailor's dummy. Nils Höddinghaus and Julian Dietz perform the piece through rapid role changes. Music is an active dramaturgical element: layered voices, looping, dark beats, distorted guitar sounds, speech fragments, and noises build and propel the action. The production examines the circumstances behind Woyzeck's violence. It premiered at Theater Itzehoe in September 2022 and was subsequently presented to numerous school classes.
