Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden revives the musical Alice by Heart by Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater as a Junges Staatsmusical under the direction and choreography of Iris Limbarth, with musical direction by Frank Bangert. Set and costume designs by Britta Lammers and Heike Korn fluidly move between a 1941 London Underground bomb shelter and the fantastical world of Wonderland. A versatile ensemble plays multiple roles, embodying both the shelter’s inhabitants and their Wonderland counterparts. The production brings the Tony- and Grammy-winning creators’ work to the Wartburg stage in Wiesbaden. The performance is recommended for ages 12 and up and lasts approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes.
