About this event

The 2026/27 Wiesbaden staging is a revival by the Junge Staatsmusical at the Wartburg. Iris Limbarth directs and choreographs, Frank Bangert is the musical director, Britta Lammers designs the set, Heike Korn the costumes, and Angelina Krauß serves as director and choreography assistant. The design combines a London air-raid shelter or Underground station with imagery from Wonderland. Field beds, an Underground carriage, brick walls, colored lighting, fog and fantasy panels transform the wartime location into a dream world. Military clothing and equipment are juxtaposed with Victorian and colorful Wonderland elements. The staging addresses war, loss and fear and uses sirens, explosion sounds and fog. Limbarth combines character-focused direction with ensemble choreography, accompanied by a six-piece band led by Frank Bangert.
