This production presents Charles Dickens's classic novella A Christmas Carol as a narrated symphonic concert. The performance combines a dramatic reading of the story with festive and traditional orchestral selections, creating a unique holiday experience. Ebenezer Scrooge's journey to redemption is brought to life by narrator Dan Nickerson, reprising his role from the Billings Symphony's 2017 production. A post-performance piece noted that Nickerson portrayed more than 70 characters using his voice and simple props. The one-hour, no-intermission concert is designed to be family-friendly. The program includes Vaughan Williams’s Fantasia on Greensleeves, Bizet’s Farandole, a traditional Irish medley arranged by Jeff Tyzik, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Polonaise from Christmas Eve, and selections from Carl Davis's ballet A Christmas Carol. The evening concludes with an audience sing-along of favorite carols.
