Happy End

This is a touring concert version of Happy End, produced through a collaboration between Opera Saratoga, The Glimmerglass Festival, Finger Lakes Opera, and Seagle Festival. The collaboration is designed to take the same production to communities across New York State and Western Massachusetts rather than concentrate performances at one opera venue. Mary Birnbaum directs, Kelley Rourke serves as dramaturg and creates the concert version and new English book, and Robert Ainsley is music director. The production uses Michael Feingold's translation and retains the original Weill songs. The reported design team includes Tobin Ost, set designer, and Márion Talán de la Rosa, costume designer. The Saratoga cast is led by Ana Karneža as The Fly.
