About this event

A new staging by Fondazione Teatro Donizetti in co-production with Teatro Sociale di Rovigo, presented within the CineDOPERA screening series. The original stage production is directed by Stephen Langridge, with sets and costumes by Katie Davenport and lighting by Peter Mumford. A distinctive feature of this production is the integration of puppet theatre, with puppet animation directed by Poppy Franziska and operated by puppeteers Noemi Giannico and Matteo Moglianesi. Musical direction of the Donizetti Opera Orchestra is by Maestro Riccardo Frizza. The screening on 11 October 2026 is introduced by musicologists Livio Aragona and Maurizio Merisio of the Centro Studi Donizettiani.
