Maurice Steger leads the audience on a musical journey spanning 400 years, uncovering forgotten treasures along the way. The Klosters Music program ranges from mystical medieval sounds from the Montserrat monastery, through the brilliance of the Renaissance, to sensual Baroque worlds. A highlight is George Frideric Handel’s Organ Concerto “The Cuckoo and the Nightingale,” performed on the historic Köberle organ. Steger, the internationally acclaimed artist from Landquart, is not only a master of the recorder but also an inspiring conductor. He is joined by soprano Nuria Rial, whose clear voice enters into dialogue with the delicate sound of Steger’s recorder.
