This is a concert presentation of Michal Horáček's project at Státní opera. The Český národní symfonický orchestr is conducted by Steven Mercurio, with the sextet of Ivo Viktorin and guests of Michal Horáček. The project comprises 40 songs and poems inspired by biblical stories, written over 40 weeks in 2025. It connects biblical motifs with contemporary language and a civil tone. The concept is not a retelling of the Bible, but an exploration of what its characters might say today in their own human voices. The broader project uses a mixed musical vocabulary spanning classical music, folk, rock, and song poetry.
