Emergence was a concert production by Esprit Orchestra presented in the 2017–2018 season, designed to showcase a spectrum of contemporary orchestral textures—from cinematic soundscapes to virtuoso solo writing. Anchored by the Canadian premiere of Marc-André Dalbavie’s Violin Concerto, which deploys spatialized orchestral forces around the hall, the evening highlighted the orchestra’s commitment to immersive sound and modern idioms. A pre-concert Musical Insights talk at 7:15 PM with composer Alexina Louie and guests provided context for the program. The event was supported by The Max Clarkson Family Foundation.
