About

Underground is a 2023 world-premiere immersive musical built from the Ben Folds and Ben Folds Five discography. It combines theatre and concert elements with songs, flashbacks, dance, and vocal harmonies. Coronado Playhouse is transformed into a dive bar where audiences sit at tables, order drinks, and experience scenes around the bar, piano, foosball table, and games area. The production was developed over 13 years and received its first workshop in New York in 2012. Amy Cordileone directed and choreographed the production, with Michael Tyree as music director and a creative team including stage, lighting, sound, costume, scenic, and production managers.
