The staging for Fragile places the dancers in a stark, exposed environment defined by light and space. Suspended overhead is a light, Calder-like sculpture by the artist Carouschka, creating a sculptural focal point above the action. Strips of sodium-yellow light outline the stage floor, carving out a magically marked, club-like arena for movement. The choreography blends sleek nonchalance with athletic, hip-hop-tinged dynamics, demanding precise control and finely isolated gestures drawn from everyday life. A driving house-music score by Anders Jacobson and Amon Tobin propels the work, reinforcing its contemporary, nightlife-inflected atmosphere.
