Mutability

Mutability is a collaborative concert installation conceived and artistically directed by Yannis Kyriakides. Twelve composers wrote two- to three-minute miniatures for twelve soloists. The music is performed live and then transformed by algorithms acting on prerecorded sounds and images. Darien Brito develops the visual and algorithmic layer, while Theun Mosk creates the spatial design and scenography. The hall contains several musician platforms and projection screens, and audiences may move freely through the space. The work can be experienced as a complete installation or in four parts. It explores the relationship between humanity and technology, including the risks of technology and what remains when algorithms gain control.
