Golden Heart

Golden Heart is an interdisciplinary Tanztheater project directed and choreographed by Alize Zandwijk. It combines actors and dancers from the theatre's drama and dance ensembles in a choreographic-musical evening examining devotion, renunciation, altruism and self-sacrifice. Inspired by Lars von Trier's image of a girl entering the forest with bread and other possessions before ultimately standing without anything, the production uses movement, drama, performance and live music rather than a conventional linear play. Its staging includes a blue stage, a grotto, piles of laundry and a toilet. The creative team includes Thomas Rupert for stage and costumes, Maartje Teussink for music, Miquel de Jong for movement coaching, Christopher Moos for lighting, Liet Lenshoek for dramaturgy and Viktorie Knotková for dramaturgical assistance.
