This concert marked the 50th anniversary of the Linz rock band Eela Craig, founded in 1970. The band's avant-garde music culminated in 1978 with Missa Universalis, a liturgical rock mass with traces of Bruckner. The program paired Eela Craig's music with the Bruckner Orchester Linz. Eela Craig members performed music with orchestra musicians in the first part, while the second part presented Thomas Mandel's orchestral version of Missa Universalis, commissioned by the Bruckner Orchester Linz. The forces included the Bruckner Orchester Linz, Eela Craig instrumentalists, Hard-Chor Linz, Drew Sarich, Sanne Mieloo, and conductor Marc Reibel.
