This concert presents neo‑romantic composer and pianist Nikola Melnikov’s second album, Last Hope, where contemporary academic writing meets subtle electronic experimentation. Performed with the chamber collective Simple Music Ensemble World, the program highlights the ensemble’s multicultural lineup and its philosophy of “simplicity as a life constant,” channeling emotional intensity through minimal, lyrical means. For the Berlin date, Melnikov has prepared world premieres written especially for the space and audience of the Philharmonie’s Chamber Music Hall, adding a unique dimension to the album material.
