Birds is a site-specific social choreography by Seppe Baeyens, created in co-creation with Yassin Mrabtifi and Martha Balthazar. The 60-minute piece leaves the traditional theater to inhabit public space, inviting dancers, live musicians, audiences, and passers-by to form a temporary community. Through playful interactions on a Sunday morning at Place de la Monnaie, surprising compositions continuously emerge, showing how each participant influences the whole. Baeyens describes the work as an experiment in being together, building on earlier explorations of community and public space in Tornar (2015) and INVITED (2018).
