This revival presents Yannis Kokkos’s acclaimed 2005 Capitole production, noted for its neoclassical, soberly elegant scenography that situates the action within the visual world of the revolutionary era. The 2027 run uses the Italian version with Franz Lachner’s 1855 recitatives, replacing the original French opéra-comique spoken dialogue with a seamless musical continuum that propels the tragedy to its end. Two major role debuts mark this series: Roberto Alagna as Giasone—returning to the Capitole where he first appeared in 1989—and Karine Deshayes in the title role. The Orchestre national du Capitole is led by Dayner Tafur-Díaz, a rising conductor trained under Kirill Petrenko.
