Vivante is a theatrical and musical encounter between director Laurent Fréchuret’s Théâtre de l’Incendie, author Simon Grangeat, actresses Christine Brotons and Lara Raymond, and the musical group Bab Assalam. Created for audiences aged 12 and up, the piece explores hindered memory and silenced speech through an intimate, intergenerational story. Live music is woven into the staging as a core narrative element, shaping a true “théâtre musical” experience. The production is supported by multiple regional cultural partners and co-producers, with Opéra de Saint-Étienne presenting two performances on the Théâtre Copeau stage. Around the run, the Opera hosted engagement events such as a practical workshop with the author and director and post-show talks with the artists.
