This production of Atala, presented as a world premiere in the archives of the Opéra de Tours, is a drame lyrique adapted from Chateaubriand’s work by Henri Lhuis. It was mounted in the 1943–1944 season under the musical direction of Paul Flon, with choreography by André Marco. The entire artistic forces of the Théâtre de Tours—its orchestra, chorus, and ballet company—were mobilized for the staging.
