La dolce vita is a ballet and dance-theatre production staged at Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera, directed and choreographed by Zofia Rudnicka to the evocative music of Italian composer Nino Rota. The staging features a diverse array of character roles, including a Satyr, a Doctor, a Nun, a Madman, and a Man with a bicycle, pointing to a highly theatrical, narrative-driven choreographic approach. Through a series of tableaux, the production blends character work with dance language, shaping a vivid stage world that draws on Rota’s distinctive musical color. The piece premiered on 10 November 2000 and continued in repertory through early 2001.
