This new version of Henrik Ibsen’s Peer Gynt recasts the anti-hero as a contemporary woman. Directed and choreographed by Emma Scharff, with text by Armin Behrem and Scharff, the piece uses Peer Gynt as a lens on modern narcissism, self‑branding, and the compulsion to be seen and remembered. Here, Peer is a woman whose dream of success begins at birth with a single word: “I.” Two epigraphs frame the work—one from Ibsen and one from German hip‑hop group K.I.Z.—bringing 19th‑century theatre into dialogue with pop culture. Creative team: set design by Lina Determann and Jette Schwabe; costumes by Paula Lindenmann and Emilia Parada Berger; music by Jel Woschni; video by Nils Eberwein; lighting by Michael Frank; dramaturgy by Nina Brauch and Linda Graf.
