The “Passion” concert features a program of works that highlight the power of rhythm, dance forms, and emotional range of music from the Spanish and Latin American traditions. The evening opens with Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnole, followed by Mendelssohn’s two concert pieces for clarinet and basset horn, performed by soloists Armin Smrika and Roman Widaszek. The program focuses on works by Moncay, Márquez and Ginastera, whose orchestral liveliness and expressive rhythmic structure represent key elements of Latin American musical heritage. A special place is occupied by Piazzolla's compositions, which in contemporary arrangements bring the recognizable emotional depth of tango. The final part of the concert includes anthology dances and popular Latin melodies.
