Metamorphosis brings together the powerful, distinct dance languages of three generations of choreographers. Connection forms a unifying thread throughout the evening, showing how different eras of contemporary ballet approach themes of community, resilience, and spirituality. The mixed bill features a Dutch National Ballet premiere by Jiří Kylián, a newly adapted live stage version of a pandemic-era work by David Dawson, and a brand-new creation by rising South African choreographer Mthuthuzeli November. November represents the youngest generation in this programme, blending classical ballet with African dance and contemporary influences. His work focuses on spirituality, connection, and building new communities, both thematically and in his collaborative approach with the dancers.
