Departure is an intimate evening of two contrasting short operas presented by Opera Colorado’s Artists in Residence. Rather than the mainstage, the production transforms The Studio Loft at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House into an immersive, close-up setting. Table seating places audience members directly adjacent to the playing area, with additional general admission seating on risers to maintain the intimate atmosphere. Directed by Dennis Robinson, Jr., the concept turns the space into a “community living room,” pairing an American tragedy with a sparkling operatic farce for one unforgettable night.
