A show that rests in the search for the Spanish musical”. Under this premise, Francisco López, stage director, created his particular vision of the zarzuela “Doña Francisquita” in 2006, a production at the Jerez coliseum that has been seen, in addition to the Teatro Villamarta, on stages in Córdoba, Bilbao and Oviedo. And it is that López starts from the need to revitalize the Spanish lyrical genre and adapt it to current times. On this occasion, the staging of one of the most performed zarzuelas will feature a cast of young soloists, including Rocío Pérez's debut at the Jerez coliseum, who will assume the leading role. Above the plot - typical of comedy due to the succession of entanglements and love triangles - the city of Madrid also takes center stage. A poetic, romantic and idealized Madrid from the beginning of the 19th century. This dream capital environment can be seen through the scenery devised by Jesús Ruiz, also the author of the costume design.
