EKKO

About

EKKO is a new opera by Josefine Opsahl, created from the idea and concept of OperArkitekterne. It is the first part of an opera cycle developed by composer Josefine Opsahl and conductor Rose Heiberg. The production presents a contemporary and diverse form of opera with room for more genders, voices and bodies. Based on the myth of Echo and Narcissus, the production combines classical narrative with an abstract, open form and questions narrow assumptions about opera characters and voice types. Nasim Aghili directs the production, with stage design by Maja Ziska, tailoring by Laura Hagested, lighting design by Laura Edlefsen and choreography by Beck Heiberg.
