This is a Works & Process presentation of Washington National Opera's new opera-ballet at Guggenheim New York. The event offers a behind-the-scenes look at the commissioned work before its planned world premiere in Washington, DC. It combines discussion of the collaboration with excerpts rather than presenting the full opera-ballet. The conversation features WNO artistic director and director Francesca Zambello, composer Christopher Tin, librettist Kelley Rourke, and choreographer Jessica Lang. The excerpt portion features mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard, tenor William Burden, billed as Bill Burden in the Guggenheim event material, and dancers. The event concludes with an invited conversation at a reception in the rotunda.
