A full-evening dance work by choreographer Giuseppe Spota, created as a world premiere for Bühnen Bern. Christof Littmann’s newly commissioned score blends orchestra and electronics and is performed live by the Bern Symphony Orchestra under Clément Lonca. Spota designs both choreography and set, interweaving movement and visual space. Costumes are by Irina Shaposhnikova, with dramaturgy by Isabelle Bischof and Bettina Fischer. The concept transposes the figure of the Fata Morgana from Italian legend into today’s digital interfaces. As curated feeds and algorithms craft illusions of reality and intimacy, the piece explores how perception is shaped and misled. Littmann’s music mirrors this duality—organic orchestral forces paired with synthetic electronics—while the Bern Ballett ensemble embodies the tension between the authentic and the fabricated.
