The concert is part of the "Metropolitano" project of the Fondazione Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, which brings performing activities of the Maggio Chorus artists to locations outside the main Florence theatre. The event features four tenor members of the Chorus of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino performing a recital of well-known popular songs, film themes, and vocal standards drawn from the American and Italian popular songbook. The performance is staged in a historical religious venue, the Pieve di San Giovanni Decollato in Cornacchiaia (Firenzuola), as part of the Maggio's outreach programming for communities in the metropolitan area of Florence. Admission is free until capacity is reached, reflecting the project's community-engagement mission.
