Ladislas Chollat’s staging tackles the complex theme of parenthood through the lenses of absurdity and comedy. Playwright Sébastien Thiéry emphasizes that the aim is not to explain madness, but to raise essential questions: is having a child governed by blood or by the heart? The production avoids didacticism and instead invents comic situations in which both characters and audience are disoriented by a surreal logic. Édouard Laug’s scenography, Alban Sauvé’s lighting, and Jean-Daniel Vuillermoz’s costumes reinforce the constant tension between the protagonists’ rationality and a situation slipping from their control.
