UC San Diego Department of Theatre and Dance presented Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’s Everybody as part of its Winter 2022 season. The production embraces the play’s lottery-based casting concept: actors memorized the full script and could perform different allegorical roles at any given show, yielding many possible casting combinations. As a university production, it showcased collaboration among undergraduate and graduate artists across performance and production areas, with complex tracks covering personified ideas such as Kinship, Mind, and Strength.
