The "LONDON" concert was the second event in ERSO’s "SUURLINNA TULED" (Big City Lights) series. It paired Beethoven’s Piano Concerto cycle—performed across two seasons by pianist Kalle Randalu with ERSO under Neeme Järvi—with a portrait of early 20th‑century English ceremonial and choral-orchestral music. The English segment focused on Charles Hubert H. Parry and Edward Elgar, underscoring the English musical renaissance. Parry’s vocal-symphonic works were highlighted, reflecting Järvi’s recent recordings with the BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales for Chandos (including the premiere recording of the "Te Deum"). The evening culminated in Elgar’s "Land of Hope and Glory," whose celebrated melody is often treated as a second national anthem in England.
