Oscillum

About

The Oscillum program was curated to bring the music of Eastern European countries closer to Sacrum Profanum audiences, sharing a special connection with Lithuania following the centenary celebrations of Polish independence. Developed as part of an artistic residency in cooperation with the outstanding cellist Anton Lukoszevieze, the concert marks his return to the festival with his ensemble, Apartment House. The performance requires a highly specialized technical setup to accommodate diverse instrumentation across the pieces. Half of the programmed works demand electronic resources, including live electronics, a synthesizer, and tape playback. The concert takes place at Cricoteka, a venue housed in a former power plant wrapped in a striking modern structure. Its industrial and contemporary architecture provides a fitting backdrop for experimental and avant-garde music. With five out of six works presented as Polish premieres, the evening emphasizes discovery and new listening experiences.
