Based on the beloved 1993 film, this new musical is a smart, funny, and tender-hearted celebration of love in many forms—between siblings, parents and children, friends, and romantic partners. Large in emotional scope and artistic ambition, Benny & Joon approaches a difficult subject with warmth, honesty, and wit. Marking the East Coast premiere, Paper Mill Playhouse furthers its mission as an incubator for new musicals. The staging is directed by Jack Cummings III with choreography by Scott Rink.
