Metafrazy

Metafrazy was created as a contemporary Polish ballet and debuted within the Współczesne balety polskie (Contemporary Polish Ballets) program at Teatr Wielki in Warsaw. Choreographed by Marta Bochenek, the production featured a distinctive visual concept by scenographer Iwo Dobiecki. His design applied a formist aesthetic, using moving geometric structures and abstract film projections to create a dynamic, modern environment for the dancers. The evening highlighted the choreography of young artists and new Polish compositions, reflecting the avant-garde spirit of early-1970s Poland. Jerzy Maksymiuk, also the composer of the ballet, conducted the performances.
