This site-specific music theatre work by composer and musical director Steven Prengels is created with and performed by the laGeste choir. The piece fuses choral singing with deliberately assembled, collage-like choreographies and surprising ritual actions. Designed for a non-traditional space at Hunter Douglas in Rotterdam as part of O. Festival 2026, the work places the 80-member choir at the center, using spatial patterns, collective gestures, and sound to build meaning rather than relying on a conventional narrative. The laGeste choir, which emerged around the 2020 creation Mein Gent, has grown into a flexible ensemble able to tackle demanding vocal writing and integrated movement under Prengels’ direction, who has collaborated widely with Johan Simons, Alain Platel, and Frank Van Laecke.
