Clinch is a contemporary dance piece that undertakes a choreographic exploration of conflict, tension, and the need for contact in contemporary society. Using a forceful, distilled physical language, it questions present-day masculinities and the mandates of virility that govern relationships between men. The staging is defined by compact physicality, conceived for non-traditional and outdoor spaces, creating a raw proximity with the audience. Ángel Durán’s artistic direction focuses on the body as a territory of struggle and vulnerability. Through a minimalist yet intense aesthetic, the production aims to dismantle the denial of feelings and emotional repression, transforming potential aggressiveness into a search for identity and human connection.
