Triptych 0811 is a full-length, boundary-pushing performance that blends orchestral music, contemporary dance, classical ballet, performance art, and video installation. Inspired by the visual arts concept of a triptych—three panels where the side wings respond to the central image—the work unites three earlier solo pieces by creator Ella Fiskum, designed to be experienced in relation and contrast to one another. With innovative set design by Serge von Arx and a video-animated dreamscape, the piece explores the tension between dreams, reality, and ambition, drawing on autobiographical threads (the digits 0811 reference Fiskum’s birth date). Supported by the Norwegian Arts Council, the Audio and Visual Fund, and the Fund for Performing Artists, this orchestral collaboration with the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra marked the 20-year jubilee of Fiskum’s career.
