It acts as a cultural bridge that conveys Filipinos’ sincere devotion to a miraculous event that linked two Spanish colonies. The staging opens with a striking evocation of Aztec culture before the 16th‑century conquest, drawing intricate visuals and a recorded score whose drum‑driven energy and Latinized intonations support authenticity. Notably, it marks the return of theater stalwart Cocoy Laurel to the stage and the comeback of Celia Diaz‑Laurel as costume designer and researcher.
