Obamanation

"Obamanation" was presented as a staged reading during the second weekend of UC San Diego's Baldwin New Play Festival in 2010. Produced by the UCSD Department of Theatre and Dance, the festival primarily showcased fully produced works by MFA playwrights, with this special reading highlighting the winner of the Dr. Floyd Gaffney Playwriting Competition on the African-American Experience. The winning script was written by Dartmouth College senior Lou-Lou Igbokwe. The reading took place at the Arthur Wagner Theatre within the La Jolla Playhouse complex. As part of the festival’s developmental framework, La Jolla Playhouse associate producer Shirley Fishman and literary manager Gabriel Greene served as dramaturgs across the festival, including for this reading. Industry professionals and artistic directors attended the festival’s second weekend events.
