Moonlight Stage Productions closed its 40th anniversary summer season with the San Diego Regional Premiere of On Your Feet!. Directed by James Vásquez and choreographed by Carlos Mendoza, the production marked the first West Coast sit-down staging of the musical since the COVID-19 pandemic began. The creative team previously collaborated on Moonlight’s successful 2017 production of In the Heights. The staging featured a 24-actor company supported by a fiery 10-piece brass and drum-led orchestra conducted by Music Director Lyndon Pugeda. The visual aesthetic relied on sets, costumes, and wigs based on the original Broadway designs by The Rockwell Group, Emilio Sosa, and Chuck LaPointe. These elements were further enhanced by ever-changing projection designs by Blake McCarty and lighting design by Jean‑Yves Tessier.
