The world premiere of The Boy Who Danced On Air at Diversionary Theatre featured a stark, intentionally weathered scenic environment by Sean Fanning, outfitted with evocative props by Bonnie Durben and sculpted by Wen-Ling Liao’s lighting, including striking live shadow projections. Shirley Pierson’s costumes blended elements of Afghan dress, from traditional robes to ornate silk-and-lace dancing garments, grounding the story in place and ritual.
