This is a concert by the Norddeutsches ZupfOrchester, a plucked-string ensemble whose instrumentation includes mandolin, mandola, guitar, and bass. More than 30 amateur musicians meet weekly to prepare concert programs. The NZO YOUNGSTERS-Teens also take part, presenting their own piece, with some members performing alongside the main ensemble. The program concept is organized around the title "Connected." Andre Herteux's work was composed partly during the COVID-19 pandemic and helped keep the orchestra united during online performances. The title refers to bonds within the association and with like-minded people around the world. The expanded ensemble performs Takashi Kubota's Dance Suite No. 2, written for large Japanese plucked-string orchestras. Steffen Trekel directs the youth program. No separate staging, set, costume, lighting, choreographic, or video concept is specified.
