Ascension is a VR installation created by Paul Boereboom and Leon Rogissart that extends the borders of opera and the way we look at reality. The production explores the intersection of digital environments and live vocal performance, creating an immersive experience for the audience. It was recognized for its innovation by winning the Best VR Production award at the KABOOM Animation Festival 2021. The staging uses virtual reality to transport participants into a different realm, challenging traditional perceptions of space and performance.
