Golden State Ballet’s The Four Seasons invites audiences to experience an unfolding path of dance innovation. This triple-bill program presents a choreographic journey spanning generations of artistic voice, time, and talent. The evening features a world premiere by Houston Thomas set to Max Richter’s acclaimed recomposition of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, George Balanchine’s legacy masterwork Allegro Brillante to Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 3, and Natasha Rader’s contemporary Thoughtscape set to music by Cam Steen. Together, these works trace a line from tradition to the sparks of new creation. Balanchine famously described Allegro Brillante as “everything I know about classical ballet in 15 minutes,” while Thoughtscape visualizes shifting feelings and thoughts—a look at the different parts of oneself.
