The Chairs

About

The Chairs is a contemporary dance world premiere by Iranian choreographer, playwright and director Jaber Ramezan, presented at MC93 within Festival d'Automne 2026 as part of the Mosaïque — Ce qui traverse les corps platform curated by Bouchra Ouizguen. Five performers navigate an unstable architecture made of chairs, moving exclusively within this structure without touching the ground. Each action is a careful negotiation with gravity, turning mutual attentiveness into a shared practice of care. Concept and choreography are by Jaber Ramezan. The creative team includes lighting and visuals by Amir Parsa, costumes by Negar Nemati, and sound design by Nariman Eskandari. Produced by the-hOle-studio and presented in partnership with Festival d'Automne à Paris and MC93, the piece is supported by the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès and is part of the Saison Méditerranée 2026.
