Dominique Dumais’ dance production Four seasons explores the cycles and rhythms of nature that determine human life. The choreography highlights the deep connection between humanity and the natural world, suggesting that our survival depends entirely on the survival of nature itself. The work proposes that humans, animals, and plants are fundamentally alike: collections of cells moving together in the rhythm of life. Through dance, the human body becomes a micro-universe of nature’s complexity, reflecting what we observe in the external world. The staging mirrors the idea that the processes of nature are also within us. Set to Max Richter’s contemporary recomposition of Vivaldi’s classic, the production offers a modern sonic landscape for an exploration of biological and seasonal cycles.
