Turbovolk3000 is devoted to the turbofolk music genre and examines structures that shape identity. In a live radio show, a host guides the audience through an evening full of kitsch, nostalgia, and excess. He actually works as an integration officer at the station. His mission: to found a new people — the Turbovolk. The production featuring Braunschweig ensemble member Ivan Marković was originally developed at HochX Munich with funding from the City of Munich’s 2021 debut program and with the support of the Department of Arts and Culture of the City of Munich and the Richard Stury Foundation.
